In recent years, many students had little idea what was going on within its student-run judicial system, the Honor Council.
To help inform students, the Honor Council plans to begin writing monthly updates on the cases encountered. This year, the group hopes to establish a stronger relationship with the community and be more transparent. Every month, a different member of the Honor Council will write an article to give multiple perspectives on how the community is at Haverford, what we are doing well, and what we could do better.
The Honor Council has not had one case yet this year.
The Honor Council is planning multiple opportunities to engage with the community. This monthly update article is only one way we are doing that; others are through different community events such as joint lunches with the Character Mentorship Program (CMP), and monthly town halls and dialogues during Community periods. Town halls and dialogues will be monthly events in which Honor Council representatives lead open conversations with representatives with the community.

The Honor Council encourages each student to consider how he can make Haverford a more compassionate community. Before every weekly Honor Council meeting, the group takes 10-15 minutes to reflect on different aspects of our community, such as what students are doing right, what students can do better, and how can students make a difference. If everyone keeps these ideas in mind, the Honor Council hopes, Haverford can foster a stronger community.
