The holidays were a time for connection: families gathered by the fireplace, unwrapping gifts, and expressed their love. And despite the wintry chill, this time also abounds with heat. From incoming college decisions to global conflicts, students may find themselves irritable or exhausted by the turn of the new year. That’s natural.
But in this movement forward, we hope you took a moment to reflect—just as we have in our first issue of 2024. In examining our relationship to service on campus, we find our drive to give back to our community. Through Spotify Wrapped, we recall the music—beauty—that carries us through late-night study sessions and library hangouts. By striving for unity even when we disagree, we overcome the bounds that threaten our tight-knit camaraderie.
Your Haverford brothers are a family of their own, after all, and they will support you even when you’re not here.
In the two weeks you spent with your family, we hope you checked in on your friends. Your Haverford brothers are a family of their own, after all, and they will support you even when you’re not here. Reach out, be vulnerable. We hear all the time how valuable Peer Counseling is to the student body, and how much we crave that warmth. Let’s make this new year about creating similar spaces, even when we aren’t all huddled together in Pechet Conference room.
We hope you enjoyed a holiday full of warmth, and we look forward to this new year.
