Letter from the student body president

Packy Rouse ’26

Boys,

As the holiday season progresses, we must embrace those closest to us. With the change in weather and the heightened risk of illness this season, we need each other to navigate these challenges.

By now, school is in full gear, but if you’re falling behind or moving ahead swiftly, things can always change. For the guys falling behind in any class, it’s not too late to pull through.

For those doing well, it’s essential not to fall into complacency, which has always been at the root of many failures. If your relationship with a teacher or a peer has begun to falter, it’s never too late to repair it, and it is always noble to be the one to do so.

I also encourage you to expand your relationships; reach out to guys you don’t know, say hello to the guys you see in the hallways, or reach out to the people you haven’t seen in a while.

Do good this winter, and good will come back to you.

If you ever catch yourself thinking it’s too late to do something at this time of the year, you’re wrong.

We’ve settled into school by now; it’s time to capitalize on new opportunities. I think that we can do a better job of making time for each other this month. I know that I haven’t supported my brothers at as many events as I could have in the past months, which means that many others have also not done so. I don’t want to sound like a broken record, but it’s so important that we show up for each other throughout this year.

Find time to support guys in robotics, on the basketball team, squash team, in the Notables, or in any other extracurricular activities you know that are going around. Do good this winter, and good will come back to you.
