Socializing with other students is a pivotal part of the school experience. Whenever students need a break from schoolwork, they can hang out with their friends in many different spots around campus. With so many other areas to choose from, it can be tough to pick one. This begs the question, which one is the coziest?
When walking through the back doors of Wilson Hall, one of the first things to catch the eye is the library. There are booths with padded seats along the windows that let you fit up to four people. They provide comfort and a nice table to do schoolwork. There are also tables with charging stations if you need to charge your computer.
“It’s a good place to hang out, and it is pretty big, so there is a lot of seating. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it can be loud at times,” Third Former Zack Rush said.
The library is one of the most convenient places to hang out, since it is on the first floor.
The pods on the second-floor “Street” are another popular spot for students to hang out. They provide seating around a circular table. It can be a good spot to hang out because of the privacy provided by its surrounding glass walls.
“I don’t really use the pods very often, since they are usually always occupied. I can see why it would be a nice place to hang out, but there are too many people,” Rush said.
On the third floor, the Big Room stands out as a great place to study. The space is large, so people can have conversations without disrupting other students.
“The Big Room is a nice place and is usually not too crowded, but it isn’t fun to climb up to the third floor, and there isn’t much reason for me to use it since I don’t have many classes up there, ” Rush said.
Overall, these places have some good qualities, but there are downsides to every spot. In the end, it really comes down to what the student finds best.
