This summer, one of the largest international sporting events is coming to Philadelphia: the World Cup. With large crowds expected, transportation may become more difficult and parking more limited. Airbnb, an official sponsor of the 2026 World Cup, will sponsor rides home on SEPTA’s Broad Street Line from Lincoln Financial Field following Philadelphia games.
This agreement states that Airbnb will fund free rides returning from Lincoln Financial to the NRG Station for all six matches. These free rides will run from halftime until two hours after the match concludes. In Philadelphia, several prominent nations are expected to play, such as Brazil, France, Croatia, Ghana, and two additional teams that will meet in the Round of 16.
“The B Line is the best way to get to and from the Sports Complex, and their generous support will help us deliver a safe, reliable, and efficient trip home for visitors and residents alike.”

Two representatives from SEPTA and Airbnb voiced their staunch support of the project.
Jay Carney, Global Head of Policy and Communications for Airbnb, said, “We’re proud to partner with Philadelphia Soccer 2026 and the City of Philadelphia to make the World Cup more affordable and accessible for fans and residents across the city.”

While transportation will be free for fans in Philadelphia, fans from other cities are not as fortunate. The base fare for New York subways has increased to $3.00. Accompanying high transportation prices come high game prices. Traveling to a match at MetLife Stadium, New York’s official venue for the World Cup, has reportedly increased to $150.
