Fords Golf opened its season in Florida with two losses against Oxbridge Academy and The Benjamin School.
“We played pretty well, put up a solid fight, just kind of missed it by a couple of shots,” Sixth Former Quinn Gallagher said.
After coming home from the Sunshine State empty-handed, the Fords rallied for two significant wins.
“We beat Strath Haven, and then we beat Radnor for the first time since my arrival at Haverford,” Gallagher said.
Gallagher was quick to point out just how mature and consistent the younger golfers are.
“I knew that he had worked really hard in the off-season, and had improved a lot from last year, which was really cool to see.”

“It’s very impressive to see freshmen and sophomores [scoring] this low consistently,” he remarked.
Gallagher also highlighted Fourth Former Jesse Shurman, who recently got his first hole-in-one.
“I knew that he had worked really hard in the off-season, and had improved a lot from last year, which was really cool to see,” Gallagher said.
Gallagher was on the third hole when he made the hole-in-one and got to hear from Jesse himself once he saw him on the tee box.
“His younger brother was there, his dad was there, so it was very cool to see,” Gallagher said.
After falling short of the Inter-Ac title last season, the Fords look to bounce back.
“I think this team is capable of doing just about anything,” Gallagher said. “Obviously, winning the Inter-Ac is the number one goal.”
