The Index has seen consistent improvements in the past years and maintained its quality during the pandemic thanks to the collective efforts of writers, editors, advisors, and the general school community. Returned to normalcy, the 2022-2023 Index staff readies for the next school year with a vision to take the publication one step further. We look forward to delivering engaging news pieces to celebrate the community’s success, raise awareness for on-campus trends, and neutrally present local and larger issues with a unique Haverford perspective in mind.
The Index staff recognizes the qualities of brotherhood embodied by this year’s Sixth Form. Their leadership and virtues influenced rising underclassmen to cultivate the values of Haverford men.
The Index staff recognizes the qualities of brotherhood embodied by this year’s Sixth Form. Their leadership and virtues influenced rising underclassmen to cultivate the values of Haverford men. We also recognize the educational curriculum constructed by this year’s departing faculty. Their scholastic and athletic legacy will live on in the students who were inspired by their teachings.
For the next school year, The Index aims to improve in several areas to reflect our community.
We hope to increase the recognition The Index gives to the faculty and staff that play an important role in managing the Haverford student experience. These people, from Mr. Casertano, Mr. Fifer, and Mr. Kolade, to the dining hall staff, deserve more gratitude.
As new staff members, we hope to amplify the voice of The Index through social media, which includes our Instagram and Twitter accounts and our website. As new staff members, we understand the importance of journalism in this moment in our country’s history. We are committed to creating stories of nuance and truth, and we hope to participate in the democratic process of which journalism is a crucial part.
We also hope to enhance the connection between the Haverford community and The Index. We will make sure that articles from all sections will deliver relevance to members of the Haverford community. We want not only to return to normalcy, but to evaluate our standards and improve. The Index looks forward to cooperating with the rest of the Haverford community to improve our journalistic professionalism and coverage of the school community.
