Summer vacation is only days away, and our student body is finally getting some well-deserved time to relax.
This year, our community has a lot to be proud of: we’ve enjoyed successful bonding moments as a school, performed exceptional work in the classroom, acquired several Inter-Ac titles, and brought home the Sweater.
Though this year’s achievements are significant, they stand in the past. They will matter to us next year when we win new titles and outperform others because of the knowledge these experiences brought to us. The camaraderie that we’ve built this year will help us shape the future of this school. With the next year standing only four months away, returning Fords will move up in the chain. They will have more freedom and strength to fight bigger battles.
Next year we are going to treasure our past, commemorate our achievements, and celebrate each other.
How are our proud moments from this year going to affect our behavior in school next year? Where will our morals stand?
Next year we are going to treasure our past, commemorate our achievements, and celebrate each other. Haverford is a place of love and compassion for its members.
With that being said, next year we have to treat our school with love as well. Keeping the locker room clean, not leaving your bags and clothes in front of the upper school office, and cleaning up after yourself in the cafeteria. These few actions aren’t only important for next year, but for the future generations. The incoming Third Formers need to learn the ways of the upper school first hand, and the best way to do that is to set good examples throughout the next year.
In the words of Mr. Matthew Rosko, we should be earning everything in our lives and not expecting things to come for granted. Earn that egg. Don’t be a buster!
